Liven Up your Fireplace Mantel for Spring
Posted on March 19, 2014
With spring hopefully right around the corner, you may have already begun to think about some spring decorating ideas to brighten up your home. When most people think of spring, they think of flowers, birds, eggs, and Easter. We want to share with you some ideas on how to decorate your fireplace mantel from MantelCraft for spring and Easter.
When putting together fireplace mantel displays, a great idea is to include something handmade, something personal, and something natural. Make a pink ruffle wreath with a wreath form, straight pins, and a yard of felt. You can cut hundreds of circles from the felt, then fold them into fourths and pin them to the wreath form. Then hang from a mirror background with pink satin ribbon. Potted wheat grass, colorful decorated eggs in glass votives, and a family photo from Easter's past will complete the mantel.
If you want to keep your spring mantel earthy and serene use these ideas. For your primary decoration, add moss, butterflies, and dragonflies to a grapevine wreath and hang it from a chipped old window with a piece of muslin. Two moss topiaries flank the wreath along with cute ceramic bunny figurines. This look is simple yet beautiful. It does not take away from your beautiful fireplace mantel!
If you are looking for an easy Easter decoration that adds a pop of color to spring fireplace mantel then this is the one. Use a half-dozen faux Easter eggs in pastel colors and place them apothecary jars lined with straw to create a pretty spring decoration. Keep the rest of your decorations simple as well using neutral elements. For example, mossy green pillar candles, a twig wreath with greenery and white flowers, and a single potted plant are all pieces that can be displayed after the holidays are over.
