| The Mantel and Shelf Specifications Charts detail the standard dimensions of certain key measurements.
For Wood Mantels, the Opening Width, Opening Height and Return Depth can be adjusted to accommodate different fireplace opening and fireplace surround facing material dimensions. As the Opening Width increases, so does the Mantel Shelf Length and Body Width. As the Mantel Opening Height increases, so does the Overall Height of the Mantel, and as the Return Depth increases, so does the Mantel Leg Depth/Thickness and the Mantel Shelf Depth. Some parts of the mantel cannot be custom sized, for instance; the mantel Leg Width, the Mantel Shelf Overhang and the Mantel Header are fixed dimensions as listed in our chart and cannot be changed.
