CRAFTSMANSHIP

About

Over 250 years ago, the golden age of fireplace mantel design began. At this time, the ability to bring a warming fire into the home was a marvelous luxury. During winter months, the whole family and all guests lived in front of the fireplace. Because fireplace mantel surrounds were so visible and important, lavish care was invested in their design. Only the finest and most skilled craftsman were commissioned to build them.

Today, this legacy of artistry endures. Each of our MantelCraft fireplace mantels bears the classic architectural lines that have endured with timeless elegance. Although central heat now warms the home, the fireplace remains the focal point. Today, every $1 invested in upgrading a mantel leads to a $1.50 increase in home value – the highest rate of return for any home improvement project.

MantelCraft started crafting hand-made custom wood mantels in 1986 along with wood mantel surrounds and wood fireplace mantel shelves. Next, we started offering marble and granite fireplace surround facing kits and then moved into the manufacturing of stone mantel surrounds. Several years ago, we introduced a full line of handcrafted authentic reproduction marble mantels in our Heritage Fireplace Mantel Collection. Most recently, we've brought to market a selection of fine wood window cornices and solid wood wainscoting wall systems.

At MantelCraft, we want you to love the home you live in. Let our craftsmen build a custom MantelCraft fireplace mantel to your exact specifications. Just select the wood species and finish color that reflects your personal style. Your choice may even include our recently broadened selection of stone mantels and wrought iron fireplace surrounds. If you do not have a fireplace, consider creating a faux fireplace or adding one of our beautiful fireplace mantel shelves to your space for added storage and a beautiful decorative touch.

To all of our customers, we want you to know how delighted we are to have our craftsmanship and American made products in your home. Make no mistake, you're the reason MantelCraft has become known as “America’s Choice for Mantels.” But most importantly, remember to gather 'round the fireplace and enjoy a tradition loved for generations.
